The National Archives of Latvia has published the historical source "Kurzemes pilsētas 19. gadsimta sākumā: Oto Hūna mantojums = Die Städte Kurlands zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts: der Nachlass von Otto Huhn" (Vēstures avoti XIII/History Sources XIII).

The published historical source contains descriptions of eleven cities of the Courland Governorate—Jelgava, Bauska, Tukums, Kuldīga, Aizpute, Piltene, Grobiņa, Liepāja, Ventspils, Jēkabpils, and Jaunjelgava. The information includes details about each city's administration, statistical data on population and occupation, the principles guiding the formation of the city budget, and its implementation. The historical source also deals with topics such as troop deployment, tax collection, fire safety, social care, and more. The Latvian State Historical Archives store the originals of these materials in the Otto Huhn collection (F6810). This publication significantly enhances our understanding of the cities of the Courland Governorate of the 19th century.

The narrative is comprehensive, featuring drawings and plans from the original volumes.

The edition's scientific editor is Valda Kvaskova. The author of the scientific introduction is Dr. Hist. Anita Čerpinska.

The publication is available in both the original in German and the Latvian translations.
